OrthoPediatrics Supports Third Medical Mission with World Pediatric Project
WARSAW, Ind., May 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- OrthoPediatrics Corp. (NASDAQ:KIDS), a company exclusively focused on advancing the field of pediatric orthopedics, recently participated in the Company’s third medical mission with World Pediatric Project (WPP), a foundation focused on providing access to healthcare for children in developing countries.
OrthoPediatrics and WPP began a multi-year partnership in 2017. Under this partnership, the Company provides surgical implants, instruments, and financial support for surgical teams to travel to the Caribbean and Central and South America to operate on children without previous access to specialized healthcare providers. The partnership between OrthoPediatrics and World Pediatric Project is a natural one; both organizations were founded to provide solutions to children with pediatric-specific healthcare needs. OrthoPediatrics’ Development Engineer and WPP volunteer, Grace Gibbs, served on the April 2018 mission trip to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, commenting, “It was an unforgettable and life-changing experience to be a part of this team and help so many children in need!”
World Pediatric Project Director, Kate Corbett, added, “It is a priceless gift to broaden our relationship with a company such as OrthoPediatrics, which is so strongly aligned with World Pediatric Project’s focus on relieving pain, providing access to surgical treatment, and improving the lives of children. Together, I am confident we can continue to provide many more children a better quality of life. On behalf of WPP, our medical volunteers, and the families whose prayers have been answered, we extend our heartfelt thanks for another year of incredible partnership.”
Mark Throdahl, CEO of OrthoPediatrics, commented, “We are thrilled to continue our on-going partnership with WPP. In addition to supporting medical missions abroad, our employees have personally funded two children to travel to the United States for more significant surgical procedures and rehabilitation, which cannot be performed in their home countries. This demonstrates the level of commitment our employees have to our mission of helping children.”
