Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America Appoints Sam Shum as Vice President of Operations and Strategy
JERSEY CITY, N.J., March 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, Inc. (MTPA) today announced the promotion of Sam Shum to its executive leadership team as Vice President of Operations and Strategy. In this role, he will oversee the company's operational function areas, including Finance, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Public Affairs, Patient Engagement and Business Process & Strategy.

"He brings strong capabilities in the financial policy, accounting and reporting functions for our Commercial business operations. Previously Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analytics for MTPA, Sam will take on the VP position previously held by Armand Famiglietti, who plans to serve as a senior strategic advisor for the organization.
Sam has over 20 years of experience in the life sciences sector, having held various financial, operational and engineering positions at Purdue Pharma, OSi Specialties, CES and IBM. Prior to joining MTPA, he was Treasurer of Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he provided executive oversight for the hospital's pharmacies, revenue cycle, procurement, accounting operations and treasury management, and served as the liaison to the New York State Department of Health.
