Meeting Highlights

European Cancer Congress 2015

Walter Alexander

The European Cancer Congress (ECC 2015), held from September 25 to 29 in Vienna, Austria, encompassed a range of European partner organizations (European Cancer Organisation, European Society of Medical Oncology, European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology, European Society of Surgical Oncology, European Association for Cancer Research, European Oncology Nursing Society, and European Society for Paediatric Oncology) representing a multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment and care. The conference was host to 19,000 oncologists and other medical professionals. The intense interest in immunotherapies was reflected in the offerings at this 40th anniversary meeting. We review key sessions, including three on the anti-programmed death-1 agent nivolumab, each in a different disease setting.
