Cost Analysis Before and After Implementation of a Computerized Physician Order Entry Order Form for Enoxaparin
The authors set out to determine whether a computerized physician order entry (CPOE) order form for enoxaparin would result in a lower cost of drug therapy per day if patients were switched to once-daily administration. Use of the CPOE enoxaparin order form did not reduce the daily cost of therapy, although cost savings did result when the hospital’s protocol was followed.
